Don’t worry, it’s a problem that millions of people have to put up with every day. In fact, many technical people actually say that if you don’t have Windows taking longer to load up, you’re actually doing something WRONG. Haha whatever. The fact is that Windows has a lot of problems with its boot process, mainly due to how Microsoft have tried to make the system work on “every” system out there. Unfortunately for me, I’m one of the dudes who goes round and fixes these problems, meaning that I’m VERY well placed to show you exactly how to fix the problems you’re experiencing. You ready? These 3 steps are going to show you the best ways to make Windows load up much faster than it is now…

Step 1 – Uninstall Unwanted Programs

First thing to do is to uninstall programs you don’t want or use. Now let’s not beat around the bush here – EVERYONE has programs they don’t use, right? I mean you’ve seen the “CD Burner” application, or maybe the free game which you put on your system when you first got it and it all seemed so new & exciting…. but now you’ve never “found time” to use them.

The best thing to do is to UNINSTALL any programs which you don’t want to use. Why? It’s easy – Windows has to load up every program when it boots, and as a result the more programs you have installed, the longer it will take to operate. To uninstall software, click onto “Start”, select “Control Panel” and pick “Programs & Features”, removing all the software you don’t want or need.

Step 2 – Clean Out Junk Files

Yeah it’s true – every PC has junk files. Even if you don’t think your system has any, it’s just going to be the case that you can’t see the files your system has. The fact is that Windows stores a copious amount of files inside a number of files and settings for your system. If you’re experiencing slow boot speed, it is a high probability that the “junk files” that Windows has are taking a long time to “index”. Here’s a nerdy explanation here – each time Windows boots, it has to perform “file indexing”, which basically means that it documents ALL the files on your system for faster searchers. And guess what? Yep, the more files your PC, has, the longer the indexing takes, and the slower your PC is. You need to remove these files:

C:/Windows/Temp

Google Chrome Browser Cache

FireFox Browser Cache

Internet Explorer Browser Cache

Step 3 – Limit Startup Programs

Okay we’ve left the best to last here. STARTUP PROGRAMS are one of the biggest causes of a slow Windows boot time. These are just software tools which load when Windows does, and I’m pretty sure it doesn’t take 33 rocket scientists and 1 nuclear physicist to work out that the more programs that have to load up with Windows, the longer your computer will take to boot up (really!). This means that if you want to speed up boot time, you just have to STOP the programs loading at boot. This is actually very easy to do:

On your keyboard, press WINKEY + R

In the “Run” box, type “msconfig”

On the “Startup” tab, uncheck any programs you don’t want to load at boot.

DONE!

Recommended – Clean The Registry

If this sounds overwhelming, you have some sort of uncontrollable impulse to have someone DO THIS FOR YOU, then there is another way. You can use a *registry cleaner* to boost the speed of your PC very easily. These are automated tools which work by scanning through your system and fix the various problems that your computer may have, boosting the speed of your system as a result. These tools are totally automated and work by using the steps outlined above to make Windows load up much faster. You can use one of these tools by downloading it, installing it and then letting it fix any of the problems that your system will have.

You can make Windows load faster by using the tutorial and tools on our website. You can Click Here to make Windows boot up faster on your system.

First you must unlock both your CPU and Graphics card chip using the software package supplied with your hardware. Please Note: Some early CPU will not allow you to do this. Always be mindful to check for newly released software updates. This system (details below) does not lack in speed or power so I have happily selected “DEFAULTS” for almost everything. As long as you are not using the computer for competitive gaming then the default settings are cool to run and give better longevity.

With defaults set the Gigabyte Nvidia graphics card GTX 470SOC runs silently with a temperature range between 34C at 60Hz for 2D and up to 65C at 120Hz for 3D. At 60Hz the graphics card temperature drops down considerably to as low as 34C, it is this decreased work load that gives the system much greater longevity without any noticeable loss of image quality or speed.

The system performance is nothing short of outstanding. The Nvidia card runs well with 3 fans at 40%, this again is the default setting with no problems. The build was a six month project put together between November 2010 to April 2011. The delay only due to lack of funds, but now finished is a heavily used and very worthwhile project.

Design and Build: “THE 3D HD JET” – Total Cost $2,900.00 AUD/USD

AMD 6 Core Phenom II Black Edition 1090T, 3.8 Ghz Turbo core; Gigabyte 890GPA-UD3H Rev 2.1 Motherboard; 8 Gig RAM Compatible RAM DDR3 Black label OCZ; Hard Drives x2 SATA WD Green 500Gb, Samsung Blu-ray 3D Optical Drive, Full HD 1080, Lite-On IHAS524 24xDVDRW Super All Write, Samsung RZ2233 22inch Monitor 120Hz LCD 3D, Gigabyte Nvidia GTX 470 SOC Graphics Card 1248MB Ram, 3D Nvidia Shutter Glasses kit; Zalman Z7 Case; Zalman 4 Rail 600Watt Power Supply, Keyboard & Mouse Logitech, Windows 7 Professional; Microsoft Office 2007, Cyberlink Power DVD 10 Ultra.

Pros and Cons:

Pros:This is a first class build with the option of 3D or 2D HD Viewing depending on the content source. The system is powerful, runs “fast cool and quiet”. An unexpected bonus is that the system virtually eliminates any need for buffering when watching internet video. An all round class build for just under $2,900.00 AUD/USD cables odds and ends included.

Cons:The Samsung 3D Monitor has a dual channel DVI input, and no option of any HDMI connection, This limits the use somewhat. Conclusion: Four Gold stars out of five, If it was not for the lack of a HDMI socket on the monitor, then this would definitely be a five star build

There are often multiple reasons why a PC may turn sluggish as time passes. Despite what the grounds may be, though, there are still multiple ways on how to make Windows faster.

By Jerry Bair (Contributed)

There are often multiple reasons why a PC may turn sluggish as time passes. Despite what the grounds may be, though, there are still multiple ways on how to make Windows faster. If your machine is working at an extremely slow pace even with only a few programs running then you need to check the processes that are operating in the background. A number of those are only used once or twice per session but look out as they continue hogging your CPU while your PC is running.

So, one thing you can do today to fix this is to optimise CPU time and use a small priority tweak. What you will soon discover in this article is massively helpful especially if you are experiencing stability issues. Your CPU, when operating, pays notice to system processes for uneven sums of time, depending on what they prioritize. Additionally, when it comes to priorities, several background processes also possess their own. As a result, they tend to make the CPU to constantly concentrate on them.

In order to take care of this kind of concern, you want to optimize CPU speed time and deprive the background processes. This involves the utilization of the Registry Editor tool that ships with Windows. It’s important to make sure before you proceed with the tweak that you contain adequate understanding in using the Registry Editor and altering entry values as improper utilization and alteration of values can produce system issues.

Note: The following process is not a good idea for folks with less than 512MB of memory. It is also not a good idea if your system is using either Internet Information Server (IIS) or SQL Server as it can make these background processes to run very, very slow.

Nevertheless, the following steps are what you will need to follow:

1. Start by opening the Registry Editor utility

Click Start, then Run

In the Open field, go ahead and type regedit.exe

Then, Click OK

2. Once the utility is loaded, work your way to the following registry path

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\PriorityControl

3. Look for the value Win32PrioritySeparation below the Name field, then right-click on it

Note: The main point of the Win32PrioritySeparation entry is to define the strategy used for improving CPU time. Its value suggests how much processor time is received by the threads of a process each time they are scheduled.

4. Click Modify

5. Ensure Hexadecimal is selected

6. Set the Data Value to 26

7. Click OK

8. Close the Registry Editor

9. Restart your PC.

With this tweak on how to make Windows faster, an improvement in the overall functioning of your foreground processes is apparent after restart.

Let it be known that even with this single improvement, your computer is quite capable of much more speed. For the best tweaks on how to make Windows faster, go to http://www.regeasynow.com and start making your PC faster today!
